14 Days till Pocono

Only 14 days left until ABC Supply 500
at Pocono Raceway!

Can #14 Takuma Sato
get his first oval victory in an Indycar?

He has qualified well at the track, 7th in 2013 and 4th in 2014 but he needs to stay in the race till the end.

Takuma Sato signing autographs at Pocono in 2014.

He finished 22nd in 2013
after a pit road incident with Ryan Hunter Reay,
and he finished 21st in 2014 with an electrical problem.

GP of St. Pete Qualifying

Takuma Sato will start on the pole for the 2014 GP of St. Pete driving for A.J. Foyt.

A four hour rain delay left a somewhat wet track and made for an (really) exciting qualifying session.

Rounding out the Top 6 was Tony Kanaan, Ryan Hunter-Reay, Will Power, Scott Dixon and Marco Andretti.

In the Top Ten:

5 Chevys and 5 Hondas
5 Different Teams (A.J. Foyt Racing, Ganassi, Andretti Autosport, Penske, Bryan Herta Racing)
2 Rookies (Carlos Munoz, Jack Hawksworth)

Full Qualifying Results can be found on the Indycar site.

Josef Newgarden qualified 22nd...Alex, his #1 fan is not happy.

INDY LIGHTS:
Qualifying was canceled due to rain so the starting positions were set by practice times.

Gabby Chaves will start on pole
followed by Zach Veach and Matt Brabham

Full Qualifying Results are at Indy Lights on the Indycar site.

Hinchliffe Wins in Brazil

James Hinchcliffe wins his second Indycar race.

* We thought it was the best Indycar road race ever

* Takuma Sato had second podium finish in a row and is first in points

*  Marco Andretti finished third and is second in points

* Josef Newgarden almost won and finished 5th but they still didn't interview him after the race (our little sister Alexandra was a bit upset about that)

Grand Prix of Long Beach

CONGRATULATIONS  to winner TAKUMA SATO!

It was an action packed race with so many passes and crashes.  It was fun to watch
them zoom around the tight turns and the fountain.       (Makenna)

Fun Facts from Long Beach

   *   First Japanese driver to ever win an Indycar race.

   *  First win for A.J Foyt Racing since 2002 when Airton Dare won at Kansas.

   *  First road course win for the team since 1978 when A.J. Foyt won at Silverstone.

   *  Sato was the second first time winner this year (James Hinchcliffe won at St. Petersburg)

   * With Graham Rahal's second place finish it was the fifth time a Rahal finished second at Long Beach (his dad finished second there 4 times and never won).

Alexandra (age 5) was not happy because her favorite driver Josef Newgarden finished 13th after having a bad pit stop, and he was not shown on tv much.
