Throwback Thursday

 

 

For this weeks Throwback Thursday we dug up an old 1963 Milwaukee Mile program

for this photo of Dan Gurney and Jimmy Clark, two Indycar legends.

 

Mr. Gurney celebrated his 83rd birthday Sunday at the Long Beach Grand Prix. 

 He was instrumental in first bringing racing to that city in 1975.

Our pappy was really into open wheel racing and he and mammy used to go to lots of tracks around where we live like Pocono, Langhorne, Trenton and Nazareth, so he especially liked the 'local' drivers who lived nearby. 

His all time favorite was Mario Andretti. 

 

We found these old pictures in a file of our pappy's and thought they were pretty cool.
