PS:  I have been to 4 races that Josef has finished in 2nd place.
I told him before the race at Watkins Glen that I hope to see him win a race in person sometime.
He is so nice that after not doing well in the race and all his interviews he came up to the fence by the pits where I was standing and said he was sorry he didn't win the race for me to see.
Thanks, Josef.
That's why I will always be your biggest fan!!!

Indycar Grand Prix at Watkins Glen 2017

The forecast called for a 100% chance of rain so we were expecting an exciting Indycar race in the wet.  It didn't rain, but the Indycars still put on an exciting race.  One young American, Alexander Rossi won for the first time on a road course, and another, Josef Newgarden, hit the pit exit wall and saw his points lead dwindle to just three.  A lot of the strategy came down to car set up for the impending rain that never came.  Those cars that set up for a more wet race were hindered on the straightaways by too much downforce.

Indy Toronto 2017

The streets of Toronto were no match for three of the 'young guns' of Indycar racing as Josef Newgarden, Alexander Rossi and Canadian James Hinchcliffe grabbed the seats on the podium.  A first lap tangle involving points leader Scott Dixon and Will Power left the three remaining Penskes, and Graham Rahal in the top spots.  It was a well timed pit stop that gave Newgarden the lead on lap 25 and he held that position for most of the rest of the race.
The win gave Josef his 2 win of the year racing for Roger Penske, and the fifth win of his 6 year Indycar career.

Josef Newgarden Update 2017 Detroit Race 2

Josef Newgarden finished 2nd!
after starting 13th
in the second race of the Indycar Dual in Detroit.

It was his highest finish ever in 11 attempts
at the streets of Belle Isle.

Josef Quote (from the Team Penske website): "I'll be honest, I think we were all just trying to get to the end. There were just two laps to go and we had marbles all over the tires. In that type situation, there's not much you can do. You want to say you'd be able to go race this guy and try to beat him. And I would have done that if he messed up; if he made a mistake, I would try to capitalize. But if everyone stays steady, we are just trying to hold on to the race car. It’s very difficult to do that at the end. When it's your weekend, it’s your weekend. (Graham) Rahal did a great job. It's a good bounce back for us at Team Penske in the Hum by Verizon Chevrolet. It's good to be in Detroit. Thanks to all the fans that came out and Chevrolet for all they do. It's fun to be in this city. I was trying to get Chevrolet that win but just didn't have enough today."

He led 7 laps pitted 4 times,
and finished with an average speed of 105.420 mph.

He moved up one position in the Indycar season points standings to 5th place heading to Texas.
