1.  Josef Newgarden won his first ever Indycar race!  Yay!

Josef Newgarden started from 5th position and in the first lap moved to 2nd place.  Helio Castroneves led Josef until a slow pit stop by his Penske crew allowed Josef Newgarden to take the lead.
The field was split on 2 pit strategies.  The first group consisted of Graham Rahal, and the Second group of Josef, Helio and Dixon.
In the end, Josef stretched his fuel to win the race, and Graham Rahal drove superbly to overcome an 18 second deficit and overtook Scott Dixon for 2nd place on the final lap!

Conor Daly in the Indycar GP of Long Beach

Conor Daly did a great job hopping in the Dale Coyne car to
substitute for the injured Rocky Moran Jr.at the GP of Long Beach.

Conor had won an Indy Lights race in Long Beach in 2011, but had very little time to prepare for his first Indycar race on the tricky street course.
He finished in 17th after an impressive run.

Conor talking pre-race on getting his first start on a street course in an Indycar.

We're looking forward to seeing him race in his second Indianapolis 500 (He finished 22nd in 2012 for A.J. Foyt)

He will be running a third car for Schmidt Peterson motorsports at the 500.

And hopefully he can get in a few more races this season!

Josef update Long Beach

Josef started 6th and finished 7th at Long Beach
for his second Top Ten of the season.

He now is 9th in the Indycar season
point standings!!!

The inaugural Grand Prix of Louisiana had Indycars thundering through the swamps of Louisiana. (Literally)

Qualifying got cancelled because of lightning, so the starting positions were determined by entry points, giving Juan Montoya the pole.

5. Juan Montoya.  Led the most laps of the race.
6. Tony Kanaan.  Passed by Simona in one of the few green flag laps in the second half of the race to drop out of the top five.

7. Will Power. Fuel strategy left him in 7th.

8. Graham Rahal.  Another strong run.

9. Josef Newgarden. A solid top ten finish leading into one of his strongest tracks at Long Beach.

10. Luca Fillipi.  Two top ten finishes to start his first full Indycar season.

GP of St. Pete recap

What a great first race of the season!
With the new aero kits for Honda and Chevy, the race was packed with action!
(and a lot of debris cautions thanks to an overabundance of wings)

After one very long off season in Indycar, we finally got to see Indycars back on track. The favorite to win was, of course, one of the four Penske drivers.  Many thought Power would continue his winning streak after winning the 2014 championship, but it was Penske's second year driver Juan Montoya who took home his first Indycar road course win since he returned to Indycars last year.

Race Stuff:
* Josef finished 12th! (Alex wanted you to know)
* The Penske Pack finished all their cars in the top five

* There was 6 lead changes and 22 laps run under caution

* Montoya won for the second time since his return from NASCAR in 2014

* Jack Hawksworth moved up 13 positions in the race

* Helio had the fastest lap of the race at a 1:01.8607

The top 10 Finishers

1. Juan Montoya

2. Will Power

3.  Tony Kannan

4. Helio Castroneves

5. Simon Pagenaud

6. Sebastien Bourdais

7.  Ryan Hunter Reay

8. Jack Hawksworth

9. Luca Filippi

10. Marco Andretti

Top Ten included..
*  Drivers from 6 different teams
*  Drivers from 6 different countries
*  7 Hondas, 3 Chevys
*  Two of the four Andretti Autosport drivers
* All of the Penske drivers
*  No rookies
